I only played Resident Evil 4 for GameCube but did not get very far. At the time, the game just didn’t connect with me as others in the series did. I still tried with RE4 on the PS2 system but by the time I got around to playing it, I was enjoying Resident Evil Online and put it into the depths of my backlog. However, with part 4 getting the reboot treatment as Nemesis and part 2 I was intrigued and had the itch to experience this game really for the first time. The State of Play showcased more of Resident Evil 4, and I am pumped to dive into this game.
The preview didn’t go into the story or bosses and only featured a few locations. I didn’t mind as what I saw just further cemented my excitement and curiosity. The locations that the State of Play showed reminded me of RE8 with how dreary and foreboding the environments were. It felt like, at any moment, some sort of monster would leap out to cause me to scream and then curse. I can tell that this game will have me on pins and needles. At least, from what I saw. I did want to know if Wesker would be making an appearance along with puzzles. But the preview wasn’t super long and what was shown was hands down kick ass.

The tag team of Luis and Leon had me in stitches with their banter. Seeing Luis fight alongside Leon has me hoping that his fate will change for the better compared to before. This version of Luis seems more like an annoying older brother to Leon, and I honestly wouldn’t mind having the whole game just to be with them. The banter alone made me think of “Rush Hour”, “Beverly Hills Cop” and “Lethal Weapon” movies.
I am excited about testing out the demo and the game when it comes out next month. I do hope that Resident Evil 4 Remake will continue the over-the-top gore and violence that the other remakes have done and make way for Code Veronica to be the next in the series to be remade.
What are your thoughts on the remake of part 4?
Looking fun from what I’ve seen of you playing the demo.
